Liquid crystals are widely distinguished and acclaimed for their use as energy proficient display elements in numerous products across a wide range of fields, such as LCD TV’s and personal computers. In the present scenario they are recognized as an essential part of modern society.
A Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) demonstrates increased optical viewing performance. In an ideal position, the LCD consists of a liquid crystal display panel which is further sub-divided as a pair of transparent substrates. Liquid crystal material is inserted among the transparent substrates and transparent electrodes and is placed between the liquid crystal material and the transparent substrates.
The other constituents of LCD are rear polarizer assembly consisting of a compensation film, a polarizer mounted on the rear surface of the compensation film. Moreover, first indexed matched and pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) is mounted on the front surface of the compensation film. The PSA remain confine to the rear surface of the LCD panel.
The LCD also consist of a front polarizer assembly which is made up of front polarizer, a compensation film mounted on the rear surface and an indexed matched PSA mounted on the front surface of the front polarizer. The front polarizer is interconnected to the rear polarizer. The front polarizer assembly can be confined to the front of the LCD panel with a second index-matched, optical bonding material which can be spaced there with the help of an air gap.
Finally a transparent cover (plastic plate) is mounted on the second index-matched PSA. The transparent cover made of plastic can be textured to minimize glare or it may possess an anti-reflection coating or an anti-reflection film which is applied on the face of the cover.
